Conor Masterson’s film, The Clockwork Studios, which was recently shown at The Ritzy Local Shorts, speaks to Noel and some of the artists here to find out what makes Clockwork unique.” The studio is infused with Noel’s character and worldview and it is his philosophy and personal touches that make it a very special place to work,” Conor says.

The Clockwork Studios film, which has been a year in the making, is now online. Conor has lived in the adjoining house, 40 Southwell Road for over 10 years. In that time he has become intrigued by the building, once Karno’s “Fun Factory.” He found an old photograph taken on Southwell Road in 1907 during one of Charlie Chaplin’s revisits to London and recreated a centenary photograph in 2008. The film reflects Conor’s own fascination with the place and space so close to his home.

Thank you to Conor for his passion and to all of the artists who have spent their time being interviewed, moved their belongings or tidied up especially. We’re really pleased to have a piece that remembers what it’s like here and we hope it’s a piece of art you’re glad to be a part of.

If you haven’t already, please watch it, like it, share it and spread it as much as you can. Thank you all!
