In June 2014, Ros and Kate, friends for more than twenty years, walked to the back of Kate’s garden where they sat behind the studio for a spot of lunch. Here they mused on what they might produce if they assembled their tools and united their diverse skills. This prompted a catalogue of ideas, unifying their aim to make simple exemplary goods that can be used every day.
Kate and Ros both believe in a waste not, want not philosophy: Good materials should not go to waste, nor should fine words be forgotten. While the list and prototypes for possible products grew, they fixed on a name for their happy new company.
