Margaret Proundfoot presents SPINSTER

7th – 29th July 2018 (Saturdays & Sundays 11am - 6pm)

Clockwork Studios based sculptor Margaret Proudfoot will be present throughout her latest exhibition.

In it she weaves together several strands of recent work reflecting her concerns with networks, history and intricate processes. Dissected and reconstructed maps feature alongside hand-made barbed wire and fences. Works that mark the centenary of WW1 evolve into explorations of borders, boundaries and demarcation lines in current times.

She will use this occasion explore her various approaches to the ‘hand-made’. Objects, and prints, that can be read as drawings reference textile processes – lacemaking, stitch and, of course, spinning all feature.

Margaret studied sculpture and printmaking at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts.
